Local Eats & Bars
Whilst Billi's Bar and the Parador are a welcome visit on the resort, one will obviously wish to venture to other local eateries etc. One may wish to 'go local', or maybe you are missing some good old English groub. Either way - you're in a good area.
Local Eateries:
3 Hermanos - just across the road from the resort, under the C3319, it is there in front of you. Almost like a truck stop, but good food if you don't want to venture far.
San Antonios - as above, next to 3 Hermanos. Speaks a few languages in here, too. Sells meat and cheese, too.
Valle de Sol - 2 junctions towards the beach, just by the exit. Don;'t really sit down to dinner until 9pm there, though.
Tapas - there is a tapas at El Torre Polaris Resort, 3 junctions along C3319 towrds the beach on the right, and a better one at La Manga Club, 35mins away, exit from AP7 south, then towards La Manga strip.
Santiago de le Ribera - the beach town, 15mins east at the Mar Menor has loads of local places to eat. Plus the odd mixed restaurant, where local food is accompanioed with some English dishes.
English Food:
Country Bowl - come off the C3319 (road towards beach) after 2 junctions at Valle de Sol restaurant, go back over motorway, across the roundabout, and drive 3km. Country Bowl is on the right. dave & Karen make their own food. There is a 7-lane bowl (carpet) outside. They are Spanish national champions!
Dos Mares Food Hall - upstairs at the Dos Mares shopping mall in San Javier has lots of fast-food outlets, from pizza/pasta and kebabs, to McDonalds and Burger King.
Fish & Chips - go to Los Alcazeras. Next to Angelas Pizzeria is a walkway which goes inland from the beach which has loads oh English bars and restaurants. Big Ben fish & chips is good.
Cook Your Own:
Big Breakfast Butcher - just at the roundabout off the Los Alacazeras exit, south 3 junctions on AP7. Just 10mins away. All home style meets from Dave the English butcher.
Iceland - yes, there's an Iceland in San Javier - packed with all the UK stock you see at home. BBQ stuff, plus all the usual cereals etc.
Eroski - supermarket at Dos Mares has a good meet selection , plus good frozen food section.
Mercadona - supermarket in Santiago de la Ribera - also has a good meet and frozen food section.
San Javier Market - open Thursday, just along from Mercadona in San Javier/Santiago.
Cabo de Palos Market - Sunday morning - at the bottom of La Manga Strip. Uusal market foods, but some tourist shopping too.
Just Bread & Milk - best bread from the petrol station outside the resort! Or pop along to El Valle Polaris Resort along the service road. nglish newspapers etc there as well.
